When ‘iron’ came up as a colour, Arbel suggested we all dress up in armour and look deadly and gorgeous all at the same time. I did better than Willis, though, who isn’t wearing ANY ARMOUR AT ALL. Naughty. She has a banana avatar but no shield?

Here we go again: Weeks of Colour has returned, and once gain the three of us have been reduced to staring at our inventories, wondering how in the name of all things prim Luna manages to pick colours that don’t exist. It’s true, she does. Seriously.

Timezones successfully circumnavigated, shopping successful despite the elbows of Christmas gift-seekers, pictures achieved even though my pc is so out of date it makes shell suits seem trendy. And so we bring you N, one of the least challenging on the list, but nevertheless fun. I’ve been rushing ahead because I’m going home to the UK for Christmas… just you buggers wait for Q, that’s all Ima say.
Anyway, here we go: in descending order, Willis, Arbel and finally myself, being suitably dotty. Your turn!
More Newbie Challenge II!
Having seen what dear Willis did with the Newbie Challenge, I felt compelled to have a go myself and see whether I, too, could come up with a decent look for $L550 or less. I’ve had various frustrating experiences trying to dress alts in the past, as machinima extras or, most recently, Harry Potter characters, and it always takes significantly longer than you expect and is many, many times more expensive.
This time, though, for some reason it all seemed to come together quite smoothly – perhaps because I didn’t have any particular look in mind when I started. Also, it helps when a store you really like is having a sale. The outfit and shoes are all from Cool Beans and were absurdly cheap, while the jewellery is from last week’s Fifty Linden Friday offerings.
I’m not desperately taken with the hair, I have to say, but it did work with the outfit and was a cheapy from The Dressing Room. The skin I am utterly in love with: Sorry.Asia is having a huge sale and the skins are just $L100 per tone, and $L80 for the extras pack (blush, lipgloss, lipstick) to flesh it out, as it were.
I’m also a bit smug about the eyes, which I found by searching “freebie eyes” on Marketplace and set me back a whopping $L1. I rather like them, too – I think they were a promo set.
All in all, a success, I think, for a grand total of $L438. Except possibly for the hair, which isn’t really my thing, but about which I wouldn’t be complaining were I really a noob.

The last challenge for the Weeks of Colour group was to make a collage of our favourite 15 outfits from all the ones we’ve put together over the last year. As there are three of us, however, we weren’t quite sure how to make that work without posting 45 pictures or arguing until next Christmas (and no doubt giving up and dressing as bits of fruit instead) so, instead, we are very pleased indeed to bring you… something entirely different that doesn’t meet the challenge at all. Ta da!
As Arbs and I were late to the party, we didn’t get to create looks for the first few colours – so here they are now. Ten new colours to round out our challenge, and Willis will be following up shortly with her pick of our five best looks. If that sodding banana picture is in there, we’re going to be having words.
